Guidelines for demonstration of compliance with PFAS requirements under Article 5(5) PPWR

CFREP and EuPC have released new guidance on demonstrating compliance with PFAS requirements under Article 5(5) of the PPWR, ahead of the 12 August 2026 application date.
With no harmonised EU testing methodology yet in place, the guidance proposes a practical, risk-based framework built on three principles: documentation first, targeted testing where justified, and advanced analytical methods reserved for case-specific situations only.

The goal: legal certainty for operators, a level playing field across Member States, and a feasible path to compliance that doesn’t rely on costly, systematic testing across every stage of the supply chain.

Full guidance available now in the CFREP library.
