The CFREP European Food Contact Plastics Conference in March provided an illuminating and in-depth insight into the current status of global food contact materials regulations and the continuing initiatives being taken to further enhance the sustainability of food contact plastics.
Over 50 participants, including industry leaders, experts and innovators, came together to discuss the latest advances and challenges. Keynote presentations included an explanation of the objectives of the European Commission’s Food Contact Materials (FCM) legislation revision, a look at the wider implications of chemical legislation and the REACH amendment, and the rapidly evolving field of PFAS legislation for food contact materials and packaging in the United States.
